The story

Dev and Maya, both in unhappy marriages in New York City, form a deep bond after a chance meeting. Dev is a soccer player whose career ended by accident, and Maya is a teacher feeling disconnected from her husband, Rishi. They become friends and eventually begin an affair. Their secret is discovered by their families, leading to a tragic heart attack for Maya's father-in-law, Sam. On his deathbed, Sam urges Maya to leave Rishi. Following his death, Dev and Maya decide to end their affair and confess the truth to their spouses. This leads to the divorce of Rhea and Rishi. Three years later, Rishi and Maya reconnect; Rishi is remarrying and has forgiven her. Maya encounters Rhea, who is now dating someone else. Rhea and Rishi encourage Maya to find Dev. At a train station, Dev sees Maya and, despite initial hesitation, they reconcile as she prepares to leave for another city.
