The story
Seventeen-year-old Laurin is unlike his mother, Maria, who repeatedly sleeps with men and struggles to keep a job. He wants to remain chaste and plans to enter a seminary after high school. Considering himself more steadfast in his faith than Gabriel, the village priest, Laurin arranges for Maria to become Gabriel’s new housekeeper. He hopes to get rid of Gabriel and make his mother more chaste.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Seventeen-year-old Laurin is the complete opposite of his mother. Maria is still an attractive, young woman, but she is also sex-addicted and cannot keep a job for more than three weeks because she constantly sleeps with every man. Laurin was conceived during a one-night stand, too. Unlike his mother, however, he thinks little of sex, wants to remain chaste, and plans to enter a seminary after graduating from high school. He considers himself more steadfast in his faith than Gabriel, the village priest. To get rid of Gabriel and make his mother more chaste, Laurin maneuvers her into becoming the priest’s new housekeeper. Unfortunately, the two of them fall in love, too.
