The story
Throughout her career as an East German figure skater, Katarina Witt achieved nearly every sporting accomplishment and broke every record. After living in the United States since the fall of the Berlin Wall, she is planning a major comeback in 1993, aiming to compete at the following year's Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Witt wants to prove to herself—and especially to a reunified Germany—that she can still deliver top-level performances. Preparing for the championship means working again with her retired coach, Jutta Müller, whose rigorous training methods have long been known. Witt addresses Müller formally as they take on the challenge of preparing for the Games.
