A couple's anniversary getaway to a secluded cabin turns into a nightmare as they uncover the house's dark, supernatural secrets.
The story
For their one-year anniversary, Malcolm takes his girlfriend Liz on a weekend trip to a secluded cabin in the countryside. Upon arrival, Liz finds a boxed cake in the cabin, which Malcolm claims is a gift from the caretaker. Their dinner is interrupted by the arrival of Malcolm's obnoxious cousin Darren, and Darren's European model girlfriend, Minka. Later, at Malcolm's insistence, Liz eats a slice of the cake, ignoring Minka's warning that it tastes awful. As the night progresses, strange things begin occurring, and the cabin's dark secrets begin to surface, leaving the couple in a state of growing unease.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
During an anniversary trip to a secluded cabin, Liz begins experiencing terrifying visions of bloodied women and a woman who looks like her. After eating a piece of cake provided by her boyfriend Malcolm, she becomes increasingly haunted. When Darren and Minka arrive, the situation escalates. Liz discovers the cake was drugged and finds a photograph of Malcolm with a wife and daughters. Malcolm reveals that he and Darren have spent 200 years feeding creatures in exchange for an extended lifespan, having sacrificed a woman who gave birth to them. Liz is eventually locked in the basement by Malcolm, where she is confronted by horrific entities. In the end, Malcolm is aged and attacked by the creatures. Liz, now with eyes turned black like the creatures, rejects Malcolm's pleas and kills him by drowning his head in a jar of honey, choosing to stay with the creatures.
