The story
Set many generations after the events of War, the film depicts a world where apes have become the dominant species and humans have become feral. The story follows Noa, a young chimpanzee hunter from a falconry-practicing clan. After his home is destroyed and his father is killed by a ruthless gorilla general, Noa embarks on a journey to rescue his abducted kin. Along the way, he encounters a human woman named Mae. Together, they must navigate a landscape of warring factions and hidden technologies to determine the ultimate fate of both their species in a world where the line between the two has become increasingly blurred.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Generations after Caesar's death, apes are the dominant species while humans are feral. Noa, a young chimpanzee, is forced to flee his home after a gorilla general, Sylva, destroys his village and kills his father. Noa joins forces with Raka, an orangutan, and a human woman named Mae. They travel to a settlement where Noa's kin are held by Proximus Caesar, a chimpanzee monarch seeking human technology. Noa and Mae form an uneasy alliance to enter a nearby vault. Inside, they find weapons and a 'book' (a satellite decryption key). After a violent confrontation where Mae kills a lieutenant and triggers explosives to flood the bunker, Noa defeats Proximus. In the aftermath, Mae reveals she destroyed the bunker to prevent apes from obtaining weapons, while she travels to a secret human base to reactivate satellites and establish contact with other humans.
