On the eve of her wedding, a perpetually unlucky office worker hides an accidental killing and joins forces with a suicidal stranger.
The story
Hiroko Numajiri, an office worker known for coming last at everything, is about to marry a handsome, wealthy man. The day before the wedding, she accidentally kills her apartment building’s landlord. Determined to reach the ceremony for her grandfather’s sake, she decides to conceal the body until the wedding is over. She then meets Fukuko Kobayashi, a woman who wants to die by suicide. Fukuko offers to help Hiroko dispose of the body in exchange for Hiroko killing her, setting the two women on an unusual escape while carrying the corpse.

Hiroko Numajiri, an office worker who has been clumsy and come in last at everything since she was little, is nicknamed “Dead-Lass Last.” She is finally set to marry a handsome, wealthy man. But on the day before the wedding, she accidentally kills her apartment building’s landlord. Determined to make it to the ceremony at any cost for the sake of her grandfather, the only person who has ever recognized her worth and always watched over her kindly, Hiroko decides to hide the body at least until the wedding is over. In the midst of this, she happens to meet Fukuko Kobayashi, a woman who wants to die by suicide. In exchange for helping Hiroko dispose of the body, Fukuko asks Hiroko to kill her. And so begins the strange escape of Hiroko and Fukuko as they carry the corpse along with them.
