After Joanna leaves Ted and their son Billy, Ted struggles to balance his career as an advertising executive with the daily needs of their son. The tension escalates when Joanna reappears in California, demanding custody. A legal battle ensues, involving a contentious court hearing where both parents are scrutinized.
