Krauses Umzug (2020)

Former police chief superintendent Horst Krause finds a dog at the grave of his late friend Rolf-Dieter Schlunzke. He adopts it and gives it the same name, Schlunzke. Mayor Stübner is visibly interested in Paula, the young cook who has been working at Krause’s inn for some time and whose relationship with the father of her son, Timo, has broken down. But despite an evening of dancing together, her friendship with Stübner does not turn into love. Instead, there seems to be a spark between her and Timo’s teacher, Thomas Seifert. Horst, his sister Meta, and her husband Rudi organize a dance evening to bring the two together. But the power goes out, and Horst has to save the evening with his trumpet, accompanied by a female guest at the piano. The following night, however, Horst has to send the pianist away from his bedroom again when she tries to seduce him in a clearly suggestive pose. Stübner did manage to make Seifert flee during the dance evening, but when Timo’s poor school performance prompts a visit from his parents, and Timo’s father breaks his promise to take him on vacation, Paula and the teacher finally get together after all. The two are to live at the inn. So Horst begins renovating Schlunzke’s vacant villa—first with his brother-in-law Rudi, and later with help from Elsa and Lubo—so that he can move in there with his two sisters and their husbands. But Meta can no longer resist her longing to travel; meanwhile, she sets off alone for Budapest in the motorhome, but returns shortly afterward.
