Full plot (contains spoilers)
Lena lives with her boyfriend, Jakob, and works as a bacteriologist. As she sets off home after a hard day at work, she witnesses a terrible accident while driving on the highway. She drives past a burning car and hears a woman’s death scream. When she gets home, Lena only briefly mentions the incident to Jakob. Even so, she is deeply shaken by what happened. She can no longer sleep at night and tries to distract herself by working a lot. But the memory won’t leave her alone. Lena then begins investigating the deceased woman’s identity and sets out to find the accident victim’s family. Although she had only intended to offer her condolences, she cannot let the dead woman go. Lena delves ever deeper into her life. In doing so, she increasingly risks losing control of her own.
