Mia Westphal is the lifestyle editor at the magazine “nana.” She hopes to become editor-in-chief soon. Instead, her ex-boyfriend Edgar Schnell is put in charge over her. Westphal still has one last chance: during the probationary period, she must come up with the better headline. While researching for the magazine, she finds a classified ad in which a man promises to pay one million euros to the woman who marries him and bears his children. She believes she has found the right story. Raised as a feminist, she refuses to accept women being reduced to commodities. Instead, she plans to expose the man herself, undercover. Unfortunately, the supposedly wealthy Max Marko is not a millionaire at all. He is the journalist Stanislav Markowich, who desperately needs a story of his own to keep his job. The rivalry between the publications and their competing employees leads to various upheavals and amusing misunderstandings, but Stanislav manages to win Mia’s heart with a marriage proposal, a valuable engagement ring, and an extraordinary kiss. When the web of lies collapses, “nana” wins, makes Mia editor-in-chief, and publishes the story, which is even followed by a bestselling book. Stanislav, however, is fired because of the humiliation. Later, Mia flies to India on vacation to forget her profound heartbreak and her anger at Stanislav, but unexpectedly runs into him on the plane. Although she loses her temper, Stanislav manages to convince her of his genuine, deep love for her by repeating their special kiss.
