A composer struggling to finish a symphony sees marriage to a young divorcee as a way to escape the noise around his apartment.
The story
Lionel Fribourg is unable to compose his symphony, which is due in three months for the Vienna Festival and will be broadcast across Eurovision. Noise around his apartment—mainly from a recently opened garage downstairs—keeps disrupting his work. Agnès Duvillard, a young divorcee and daughter of a Breton ship’s carpenter, lives in a quiet suburban house. Lionel imagines marrying her so he can move into the villa and find the peaceful setting he needs. But his plan encounters an obstacle: Agnès’s father.
