After losing his father, Alexandre continues to see and argue with him, though no one else can.
The story
Alexandre has just lost his father, but the loss has not ended their conversations. He continues to hear and see his father and to argue with him, whose habit of being dissatisfied with everything persists. The difficulty is that Alexandre alone can still see and speak to him. His mother and brother cannot, and instead see Alexandre talking to himself, leaving them worried about him. The story’s initial conflict centers on Alexandre’s continuing relationship with his dead father and the concern it causes among the rest of his family.
