The story
Raphaël, a nearly 60-year-old man with only one eye, works as caretaker of a manor that has long been empty. He lives with his mother in a small cottage at the entrance to the grand bourgeois estate. His days pass in a familiar routine: hunting moles, playing the bagpipes and taking rides in the postwoman’s Kangoo. This quiet, repetitive existence is disrupted one stormy night when Garance, the estate’s heiress, returns to the family home. Her arrival marks a turning point for Raphaël and the life he has known.

Raphaël has only one eye. He is the caretaker of a manor where no one lives anymore. Nearly 60, he lives with his mother in a small cottage at the entrance to the large bourgeois estate. Between hunting moles, playing the bagpipes, and going for rides in the postwoman’s Kangoo, the days follow one another and are much the same. One stormy night, Garance, the heiress, returns to the family home. Nothing will ever be the same again.
