A trusted employee and two colleagues take company money toward Paris, but a chain of wrong-train mishaps derails their plan.

The story

Pelepan, one of the Bertin real estate company’s most trusted employees, finds himself obliged to “borrow” a substantial sum from the firm. He joins forces with Migue, a man from Marseille, and Schmidt, an Alsatian colleague from the Toulouse office. Their plan is to take the money to Paris and hand it over to the Robinhoude brothers. But once the journey reaches Limoges, the different parties board the wrong trains. The resulting railway mix-ups bring comic and dramatic complications, separating the travelers and disrupting their attempt to deliver the money.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Pelepan finds himself obliged to “borrow” a substantial sum from the Bertin real estate company, where he is one of its most trusted employees. Along with Migue, a man from Marseille, and Schmidt, an Alsatian, two of his colleagues at the Toulouse office, the wily Pelepan decides to take the money to Paris, where they are to hand it over to the Robinhoude brothers. But mischievous chance has it that, from Limoges onward, the various parties board the wrong trains, leading to numerous situations that are as comical as they are dramatic.
