An ensemble of mothers from different walks of life find their stories connected around Mother’s Day.
The story
This ensemble film follows several women who are mothers, including a president, a baker, an actress, a teacher, a florist, an unemployed woman, a pediatrician and a journalist. Their stories present contrasting kinds of motherhood, from loving and responsible to indifferent or suffocating. Rather than offer an overly sweet portrait, the film shows the many faces of the experience. Though the women lead separate lives, their stories connect in various ways, with Mother’s Day serving as one point of connection.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
An ensemble film, about mothers. It tells the small and great stories of several women: one is a president, another a baker, an actress, a teacher, a florist, an unemployed woman, a pediatrician, a journalist... They are all kinds of mothers: suffocating, loving, indifferent, responsible, sensible, crazy... In any case, the film does not paint an overly sweet portrait of mothers; it shows the many faces of a condition. Several stories, then, but all of them are connected in some way, among other things, through Mother’s Day.
