A disillusioned bus driver accepts a stranger’s offer to borrow a fortune and live extravagantly for two weeks before loan sharks collect.
The story
Martín, a bus driver in his thirties, believes he has failed in every part of his life and is about to jump from a bridge when Salva intervenes. The stranger proposes that Martín delay his death for a couple of weeks, borrow a million dollars from loan sharks, and spend the time enjoying life’s pleasures; when the period ends, the lenders will kill him. Martín agrees. At a lavish party organized by Salva, they meet Lola, a sharp-tongued immigrant waitress whose charm draws in the newly wealthy Martín, though she has ulterior motives.
