On New Year’s Eve 1999, a group of people see their plans for the night disrupted by unexpected events and setbacks of many different kinds. Manuel and Paloma are a couple expecting their first child, and they have arranged to go to dinner at her parents’ house. Since they don’t have a car, he has taken a van, even though his father-in-law insisted on picking them up, and a mess ensues.
