A man’s bedtime stories to a child explore the tensions between humanity and the natural world.
The story
Using the stories a man tells a child before sleep as its framing device, the film considers the uneasy relationship between humanity and nature. It draws on photographs from Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s book Earth from Above to explore how human activity disrupts the natural balance, including the advance of deserts toward cities, intensive agriculture and livestock farming, pollution, and deforestation.
