Full plot (contains spoilers)
The story takes place in Barcelona in 1917. There is an arms factory called Savolta, which began as a family business and has experienced tremendous growth and made huge profits thanks to Spain’s neutrality in the First World War, at the expense of exploiting its workers. This leads to clashes between the workers, mainly anarchists, who are making demands for better working conditions, and the business owners, who do not hesitate to use violence to suppress them, going so far as to hire hired thugs for that purpose. Amid all this, the journalist Pajarito de Soto uncovers an arms-trafficking scandal that could bring down the Savolta factory and its owners.
