A magical, talking cat in red boots helps his young master compete for a princess’s heart.
The story
When a miller dies, his two eldest sons inherit the mill, while the youngest, Petit Pierre, is left to look after his father’s cat. The cat is no ordinary pet: he talks like a magpie, walks on his hind legs, and gains magical powers from a pair of red boots. He sets out to help Petit Pierre win the heart of Princess Manon, a dancer and singer. But the princess is also coveted by the king’s odious chamberlain, who has ambitions to seize the throne.
