Believing she only has a few weeks to live, she quits her job and liquidates her assets to embark on a dream vacation at the deluxe Grandhotel Pupp in the Czech Republic. Full plot (contains spoilers)
Georgia Byrd, a humble shop worker in New Orleans, is diagnosed with a terminal illness and decides to spend her remaining time on a luxury holiday in the Czech Republic. At the Grandhotel Pupp, she lives extravagantly, attracting the attention of various guests, including the arrogant owner of her former employer, Matthew Kragen. After a misunderstanding leads her to believe she is dying, she is eventually confronted by the hotel's manager, who urges her to return home. A snowstorm separates her from her coworker, Sean, who has traveled to find her. During a New Year's Eve party, Kragen attempts to humiliate her by revealing her status as a mere saleswoman, but she reveals her illness, leading the other guests to abandon him. After a tense confrontation on a balcony, Sean arrives and they confess their feelings. In the final moments, it is revealed that Georgia was misdiagnosed and is not actually dying. The film ends with the couple returning to New Orleans to open a restaurant together.
