The story
In a world facing an apocalypse, the Archangel Michael falls to Earth in Los Angeles and travels to the Paradise Falls Diner near the Mojave Desert. There, he encounters a group of patrons, including a single father and a pregnant woman. As the world outside begins to fall into chaos and the diner becomes isolated by a swarm of flies, Michael must arm the patrons to defend them against an onslaught of possessed people. He reveals that a baby, currently being carried by one of the women, is the destined savior of mankind, and he must ensure it survives the coming judgment.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After Michael arrives at the Paradise Falls Diner, he informs the patrons that God has lost faith in humanity and sent angels to destroy the human race. He reveals that Charlie's unborn baby is the savior of mankind, and he has defied orders to let it live. As the siege intensifies, the group faces waves of possessed humans and the arrival of the Archangel Gabriel. During the conflict, several characters are killed, including Kyle and Howard. Amidst the chaos, Charlie goes into labor, and Audrey and Michael help deliver the baby. Gabriel enters the diner, and a final confrontation occurs. Michael is briefly defeated by Gabriel but is eventually restored by God after a test of faith. Gabriel, realizing his blind obedience was flawed, leaves. Michael remains as the baby's protector, and the survivors, including Jeep and Charlie, flee toward a nearby town with the infant.
