On his wedding day, Paul sees Joseph again, his first love, whom he has not seen for twenty years. This unexpected encounter brings back memories of a scorching summer in 1983, when Paul and Joseph, then teenagers, shared a sudden but secret passion. Their relationship was discovered by those around them, setting off a wave of violent homophobic harassment that marked their lives forever, culminating in a tragic night that changed their lives. The film alternates between past and present. In the past, we follow the birth of Paul and Joseph’s love, their closeness, their discovery of their sexuality, and the violence of social and family rejection.
