The story
At fifty, René Maugras, a wealthy newspaper magnate, is rushed to hospital after falling into a coma. He recovers from the immediate crisis but remains unable to move or communicate. As he begins rehabilitation, the process proves humiliating and difficult. Blanche, his nurse, takes his case to heart and surrounds him with affection, offering support as he faces the challenge of recovery.

At fifty, René Maugras (Michel Bouquet) has lost everything. The wealthy newspaper magnate has fallen into a coma and been rushed to hospital.
