Full plot (contains spoilers)
Astrid Carlson (Valérie Donzelli), the daughter of a deceased businessman and patron of the arts, has set her heart on fulfilling one of her father’s dreams that he was unable to realize before his death: bringing together four Stradivarius instruments for a one-off concert featuring a new, previously unheard score by contemporary composer Charlie Beaumont (Frédéric Pierrot). She is prepared to bankrupt herself to make this dream come true, much to the dismay of her brother, who took over their father’s place in the family business. But beyond the instruments, a quartet also brings together four musicians who must listen to one another and form an ensemble. The four exceptional musicians assembled for a one-off concert and a recording have strong personalities. The film follows their troubled rehearsals during the seven days leading up to the concert.
