Full plot (contains spoilers)
Seventeen-year-old Alma meets her father, Dr. Fred Schöne, who had left her and her mother, Barbara, five years earlier to work abroad as a doctor. Alma and Fred try to grow close again, but the five-year separation makes it difficult for both of them. While cleaning her father’s apartment, Alma gently plays up her feminine charms. Seeking affection, Alma later gets her father a vacuum cleaner, but he would rather go out to dinner with his girlfriend, Inka. Disappointed, the next evening Alma pretends in a bar that Fred is her lover. Alma meets up with Wenzel, a truck driver who had flirted with her recently and lost his job after she complained about him. When Wenzel tries to get together with her, she rejects his advances and goes to her father. Fred tells her that he plans to work abroad as a doctor again. As the evening goes on, the tension between them rekindles; eventually, Alma sleeps with her father. The next morning, they say goodbye to each other forever.
