A successful real estate agent's life is upended when a man he once mentored from a youth program suddenly appears in his life.

The story

Rudd Landy is a successful real estate professional who feels constantly overshadowed by his billionaire brother, Josh. His carefully constructed life is thrown into chaos when Marcus Pinchel, a man Rudd mentored years ago through a youth program, is hospitalized and listed Rudd as his emergency contact. Because of a misunderstanding involving a series of emails, Marcus believes they have maintained a close bond for years. When Marcus is discharged, he moves in with Rudd and his wife, Deirdre. Marcus's unpredictable behavior and unexpected success on a reality show create a growing conflict for Rudd, who must navigate the presence of a man who believes they are brothers.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Rudd Landy is a successful real estate agent who feels overshadowed by his billionaire brother, Josh. His life is disrupted when Marcus Pinchel, a man Rudd mentored years ago, is hospitalized and listed Rudd as his emergency contact. Due to a misunderstanding involving emails written by Rudd's assistant, Marcus believes they have been close friends for years. Marcus moves in with Rudd and his wife, Deirdre, and becomes an accidental star on the reality show 'NYC Hustlers.' During a party at Josh's mansion, a confrontation occurs where Rudd, fueled by jealousy, publicly humiliates Marcus by revealing the truth about the emails and his lack of interest in the mentorship. This leads to a rift with Rudd's family. However, during a televised ceremony, Rudd realizes his mistakes and publicly confesses his feelings and the truth about Marcus. He eventually finds Marcus in a psychiatric ward and offers a sincere apology. The film ends with the two launching a real estate partnership, Rudd reconciling with his family, and Marcus finding a stable home and a true brother.
