A determined single mother begins medical school and discovers that independence, shared living, and falling in love complicate her plans.
The story
Lotta is determined to study medicine and become independent, but pursuing that goal as a single mother with a daughter proves difficult. After relying on sheer stubbornness to get her way, she must adjust to the demands of her course, younger fellow students, and life in a shared apartment. Then a new complication arrives: Lotta falls in love, a feeling she has never experienced before and which she believes does not fit her plans.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Lotta has a plan: she wants to study medicine and stand on her own two feet. As a single mother with a daughter, that’s not so easy. Having managed to get her way almost all the time so far through sheer stubbornness, she now has to learn to adapt: to the demanding course of study, to younger fellow students, and to life in a shared apartment. And that’s not all: all at once, Lotta experiences a feeling that is completely new to her. She has fallen in love. And that really doesn’t suit her.
