Left behind in a deserted seaside resort as winter closes in, Louise chooses to treat her isolation as an adventure.
The story
At the end of summer, Louise watches the last train serving the small seaside resort of Biligen leave without her, and the town empties out. As the weather worsens, spring tides cut off electricity and communications, leaving her isolated and poorly equipped for the coming winter. Rather than fear her abandonment, Louise regards it as a wager. She sets out to learn how to live with the elements and solitude, while her memories become part of the adventure.
