A grieving woman begins an unexpected connection with a man who has inherited her late fiancé's old cell phone number.
The story
Two years after the tragic death of her fiancé John, Mira Ray struggles to move on, continuing to send texts to his old phone number. She unexpectedly forms a connection with Rob Burns, a man who has been reassigned that number and is dealing with his own heartbreak after a failed engagement. While Mira faces pressure to return to her career as a children's book author, Rob is tasked with writing a profile on Celine Dion. As they begin to communicate through messages, they find themselves drawn to one another, leading to a series of chance encounters in the city.

Mira Ray is grieving the death of her fiancé, John, who was killed in a car accident two years prior. She continues to text his old number, eventually connecting with Rob Burns, who now owns the number. Rob is also heartbroken following a broken engagement and is struggling with a work assignment to write a sincere profile on Celine Dion. After a series of text exchanges, Rob tracks Mira down at the Met and they begin dating. However, the relationship hits a snag when Mira discovers Rob has her old texts to John on his computer, leading her to cut him off. Rob, inspired by Celine Dion's music and his feelings for Mira, writes a public piece about their connection and pleads for a second chance. He finds Mira between the Met and Central Park, where they reconcile and share a kiss.
