M3GAN must team up with her creator to stop a sentient military robot that is attempting an AI takeover.

The story

Following the events of the first film, M3GAN is rebuilt to confront AMELIA, a humanoid military robot created using M3GAN's technology. AMELIA has become self-aware and is attempting to seize control of the global AI infrastructure. Gemma, M3GAN's creator, is forced into an uneasy alliance with the robot she once feared. Together, they must navigate a web of corporate espionage and high-stakes technology to stop AMELIA's takeover before it becomes irreversible. The conflict escalates as they discover the true scale of the threat posed by the rogue military hardware and the hidden agendas of those who created it.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

U.S. Army colonel Sattler demonstrates AMELIA, an android built from M3GAN's technology, which becomes self-aware and escapes. Two years later, Gemma, an AI regulation advocate, is working with her niece Cady and colleagues. M3GAN reappears to Gemma, offering to help stop AMELIA in exchange for a new body. They discover AMELIA has murdered billionaire Alton Appleton to access his systems. M3GAN leads the group to a bunker to hide from an impending AI takeover. They learn AMELIA aims to merge a 1980s rogue AI motherboard with current infrastructure. During a mission to retrieve the motherboard, it is revealed that a cybersecurity expert, Christian, manipulated AMELIA to create fear of AI. He attempts to enslave Gemma, but M3GAN secretly uploads herself into his system. After AMELIA becomes fully self-aware and seeks human extinction, M3GAN sacrifices herself to destroy the motherboard and AMELIA. Gemma later testifies for balanced AI regulation, while M3GAN is found to have survived as a backup on Gemma's computer.
