Amakusa Shirō Tokisada, who died during the Shimabara Rebellion, is resurrected like a fallen angel, accompanied by his retainer, Clara Oshina. About ten years later, during the reign of the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, Shirō, intent on bringing down the Tokugawa shogunate, provokes the ambitious Tokugawa Yorinobu while he is out falcon hunting. Shirō sends against him three members of the demonic realm’s ranks, whom he has revived through secret arts: Araki Mataemon, Miyamoto Musashi, and Hōzōin Inshun, each bearing regrets about their lives in the present world. After Mataemon’s attack, the Yagyū group—including Yagyū Jūbei, Ohina, and Date Kosaburō—joins the fight while pursuing Ohirō, who was abducted as a sacrifice for the secret arts. After his demonic warriors are defeated in battle, Shirō goes further and uses Clara Oshina’s body to reincarnate Tokugawa Ieyasu as well.
