A grown woman’s former plush-doll companion returns, disrupting her romance and setting off a contest for her affection.

The story

Bella, Jana’s best friend, unexpectedly reappears at a party, upsetting Wolfgang, who has carefully planned a future with Jana. Bella is a plush doll Jana’s father gave her when she was a lonely child in a children’s home. Jana is now grown up, while Bella has become a film star whose career seems to have abruptly ended—a reality Bella refuses to accept. Jana immediately offers to help her, much to Wolfgang’s dismay. As Jana tries to balance her bond with Bella and her relationship with Wolfgang, her colleague Kerstin and an admirer, Sid, are also caught up in her personal complications.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Bella suddenly bursts back into the life of her best friend Jana (played by Laura Berlin), showing up uninvited at a party. This is much to Wolfgang’s (Tom Beck) annoyance, since he already has very specific plans for the love of his life, Jana, and now everything could be thrown into disarray again. He knows Bella all too well. She may be a plush doll, but she is anything but conventional: she is rather frivolous and thoroughly enjoys life as a doll. Wolfgang knows he is at a disadvantage, because Jana received Bella as a gift from her father (Jörg Witte) so Bella could look after her when Jana was a little girl (Anastasia C. Zander), lonely in a children’s home. Now Jana is grown up, and Bella has had a major career as a film star in the meantime, but it seems to have come to an abrupt end—a fact Bella refuses to accept. She is fighting to survive, and Jana naturally offers her help at once. Wolfgang is anything but pleased, and a struggle for Jana’s affection begins, as she is now torn between her best friend and the love of her life. Her colleague at the bedding shop, Kerstin (Proschat Madani), is no more able to help her than Sid (Daniel Roesner), who makes advances toward her from time to time.
