The story
Film diva Ossi is cast as a simple maid in an Alpine film produced by Lachmann’s company, Zeus. Unhappy with the studio set, the production moves to the mountains of Tyrol, where local residents oppose the filming. In her maid costume, Ossi meets Baron Erich von Schwindt, who has left the city hoping to marry a simple country woman. Ossi’s costumed appearance seems to embody his ideal, and he falls in love with her, unaware at first that she is a film star.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The film diva Ossi is to play the leading role of a simple maid in an Alpine film. The film is produced by Lachmann’s company, “Zeus.” Since she is unhappy with the studio set, the production is moved to the mountains of Tyrol. There, conflicts arise with the local residents, who oppose the filming. Meanwhile, Ossi—disguised as a maid in her film costume—meets Baron Erich von Schwindt, who wants to escape the city and marry a simple country woman. He falls in love with Ossi, who in her costume embodies his ideal of a child of nature. Although she later tells him that she is a film star, he marries her anyway. Lachmann is pleased in the end, too, as the Alpine film becomes a great success.
