A Paris commander returns to Lille to investigate the murder of a sculptor, teaming up with a local captain who resents her arrival.
The story
As an exhibition devoted to Lille sculptor Victor Maurin is being prepared at the La Piscine museum in Roubaix, he is found dead shortly before it opens. Commander Caroline Flament, sent from Paris to lead the investigation, returns to the city where she grew up. Her arrival is unwelcome to Lille-based Captain William Henry, setting up friction between the investigators. The case also brings Caroline back into contact with her childhood friend Astrid d'Armentières, the exhibition's set designer. Astrid's son Oscar had been interning with Maurin, while Oscar's girlfriend Adèle had been one of the sculptor's models, giving the investigators several close connections to examine.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
As an exhibition devoted to Lille sculptor Victor Maurin (Christian Vantomme) is being set up at the La Piscine museum in Roubaix, he is found dead just hours before it opens to the public. Sent from Paris by the young deputy prosecutor, who is handling her first case, Commander Caroline Flament (Annelise Hesme) arrives to lead the investigation. Based in Lille, Captain William Henry (Loup-Denis Elion) resents the arrival of this senior officer from Paris, foreshadowing tensions within the investigative duo. This new assignment gives Caroline the chance to return to the city where she grew up and reunite with her childhood friend, Astrid d'Armentières (Elsa Lunghini). But Astrid is none other than the murdered sculptor's set designer and the mother of Oscar (Axel Auriant), who was doing an internship alongside Victor Maurin. Oscar's girlfriend, Adèle (Milena Sansonetti), was one of the artist's models. The investigation looks set to be difficult.
