Meurtres en pays d'Oléron (2018)

Judith Valeix, a gendarmerie captain, investigates the murder of a man in his sixties, the owner of an oyster-farming business, who is found stabbed in an abandoned Protestant cemetery. The body is naked, positioned in the fetal position, and beside the corpse lies an oyster shell engraved with the dead man’s name. Working with Vincent Lazare, the forensic pathologist, a former military surgeon and a native of the region, her investigation will lead her to reopen the case of an unresolved disappearance: that of a young woman from the “Little Church” community, who vanished twenty-eight years earlier.
