Full plot (contains spoilers)
During an undercover sting, detectives Crockett and Tubbs receive a call from informant Alonzo Stevens, who is in danger from a Colombian cartel. After Stevens commits suicide, the detectives are recruited by the FBI to join a joint task force. They go undercover as drug smugglers to infiltrate the cartel's operations. They eventually meet the cartel's leadership, including the mastermind Arcángel de Jesús Montoya. During the investigation, Crockett begins a secret romance with Montoya's advisor, Isabella. The operation takes a turn when Rico's girlfriend, Trudy, is kidnapped by the Aryan Brotherhood on the cartel's orders. The team rescues her, but she is critically injured in an explosion. In a final confrontation at a shipyard in Miami, the team faces off against the cartel and the Aryan Brotherhood. Crockett's secret romance is exposed, and he must choose between his duty and his feelings for Isabella.
