Full plot (contains spoilers)
Best friends and roommates Marshall "Milk" and Steve "Seven" run a YouTube prank channel. Before Milk's birthday, Seven buys a gun and blanks for a prank. During a party, a staged shooting with a blank occurs, and they encounter a neighbor, Greg. Later, they find Greg in a state of distress. During a dinner with Greg, he appears to drug them before they are taken to a desert. After Seven shoots Greg in self-defense, Milk reveals it was a prank with a hired actor, but Greg is actually dead. It is then revealed that Milk orchestrated the entire situation, including swapping blanks for real bullets, to frame Seven for murder out of jealousy over Seven's popularity. Milk then gaslights Seven and eventually kills another woman, Lara. After a confrontation with Greg's son, Frank, they lie about Greg's whereabouts. Finally, Milk admits to the camera that he wants to be remembered as a creative serial killer, and Seven shoots Milk. The film ends with a final gunshot.
