Full plot (contains spoilers)

Even the wisest man has something to learn when he unexpectedly finds himself in a “parentless” household with six children, two dogs, and a guinea pig. That is exactly what happens to psychology student Erik Lund when he takes refuge at his sister’s house to prepare for his doctoral examination. At the same time, she and her husband leave on a business trip to Paris, leaving the household without its parents. When Margarete, the housekeeper, trips over a toy horse and breaks her leg, disaster seems inevitable. Uncle Erich is spared nothing—not even the neighbor’s accusation that he is a pervert—and only with the help of the six lively children does he manage to keep the growing chaos under control, pass his doctoral examination, and win over the pretty girl next door.
