The story
After his grandfather tells him stories of a secret sanctuary for children with extraordinary abilities, Jake Portman travels to the coast of Wales. There, he discovers 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children,' a refuge for 'Peculiars' who possess paranormal powers. Jake learns that these children are being hunted by 'Hollowgasts,' monstrous beings who seek to consume their eyes. To stay safe, the children and their protector, Miss Peregrine, live within a time loop. When Jake discovers the truth about the dangers lurking in the shadows, he must navigate the complexities of their hidden world while facing the threat of the hunters who seek to expose and destroy them.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Jake Portman, a teenager who can see 'Hollows' (monsters), travels to a Welsh island to find the sanctuary of Miss Peregrine. He discovers a group of 'Peculiars' living in a time loop set to September 3, 1943, to escape persecution. He meets Emma Bloom and other children with unique abilities. The plot thickens when Jake learns that Mr. Barron, a shapeshifting leader of the Hollows, has been infiltrating their world. Barron poses as Jake's therapist and an ornithologist to find the loop. After a confrontation, Barron captures Miss Peregrine and takes her to a different time loop in Blackpool. Jake and the children must travel through various time loops to rescue her. They eventually defeat the Hollows and Barron. The film ends with Jake returning to 2016, where he finds his grandfather alive due to a temporal shift, and eventually reunites with his friends in 1943 to find a new, safe home.
