Full plot (contains spoilers)
Following the reorganization of the Syndicate into the Apostles, Ethan Hunt and his team attempt to recover three plutonium cores from the extremist John Lark. After a failed recovery in Berlin, the team works to obtain schematics for Lark's bombs. In Paris, Ethan and CIA agent August Walker infiltrate a nightclub to find the cores. Ethan mistakenly believes he has found Lark, but his ally Ilsa Faust intervenes. Ethan then tracks the rogue agent Solomon Lane, while the team eventually moves to London. There, they are confronted by the CIA, but the Apostles intervene, leading to a chaotic gunfight where Walker escapes with Lane. The final confrontation occurs at a medical camp near the Siachen Glacier in Kashmir. Ethan discovers his ex-wife, Julia, is there. As the bombs are prepared to be detonated, Ethan engages in a high-stakes chase, eventually crashing his helicopter into Walker's. He successfully disarms the detonator, preventing a nuclear catastrophe and reuniting with his team, while Julia is left safe in her new life.
