Paolo Federici, a married family man, has just been in a traffic accident: riding his scooter through an intersection with traffic lights, he is hit by a truck. Immediately afterward, he finds himself in Heaven, surrounded by clerks who use computers to calculate how long people will live on Earth. Paolo challenges a miscalculation, and since the clerks agree that he is right, he is allowed to return to Earth... for one hour and thirty-two minutes. Accompanied by an angel, Paolo tries to take care of all the important unfinished business, but in the end he will have to settle for spending his ninety-two minutes in little “moments of insignificant happiness.”
