The story
At a hospital in Greece, 10-year-old Michael Morbius and his surrogate brother Milo bond over a shared blood illness. Twenty-five years later, Michael is a scientist in New York working on artificial blood. When his experimental treatment succeeds, it transforms him into a vampire with superhuman strength, speed, and echolocation. As he struggles to control his new condition and his growing bloodlust, he is hunted by FBI agents Simon Stroud and Al Rodriguez. Meanwhile, his brother Milo, who also shares the condition, becomes a threat as he embraces his own transformation, leading to a tense confrontation between the two brothers.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After a successful but transformative experiment with vampire bat DNA, Michael Morbius becomes a vampire with superhuman abilities. He attempts to hide his condition while his brother, Milo, also transforms and embraces his vampiric nature. While the FBI investigates the deaths of those around Michael, he discovers that Milo is responsible for several deaths and is actively seeking to turn others. Michael eventually finds his colleague Martine Bancroft, who is also targeted by Milo. After a series of violent encounters, Michael is forced to confront Milo. In a final confrontation, Milo is mortally wounded by Michael's intervention and subsequently dies after Michael injects him with an antibody. Michael accepts his identity as a vampire, while Martine is left alive but transformed. The film ends with a mid-credits scene where Adrian Toomes from another universe approaches Michael to suggest they form a team.
