The story
In London in 1957, war widow Ada Harris works as a hardworking and generous cleaning lady who feels overlooked by her clients. She becomes obsessed with a haute couture Dior dress and dreams of owning one for herself. After receiving a war widow's pension, she travels to Paris to purchase a dress. There, she stumbles into a Dior showing and meets André, a Dior accountant, and Natasha, a model. Despite initial resistance from the Dior director, Claudine, who views Ada as an intruder, the company eventually agrees to take her order, leading Ada into the exclusive world of high fashion.

In 1957 London, Ada Harris, a dedicated cleaning lady, dreams of owning a haute couture Dior dress. Upon receiving a pension, she travels to Paris and enters the world of high fashion. She befriends André, a Dior accountant, and Natasha, a model, while navigating the demands of the Dior director, Claudine. Ada falls in love with a red dress called 'the Temptation,' but a rival client's order forces her to accept a green one. While in Paris, Ada encourages André to pursue Natasha, and she finds kindness from a Marquis. When the company faces financial trouble, Ada organizes a strike to modernize the business, eventually convincing Claudine to return. Back in London, Ada's green dress is ruined by a client, but her friends from Dior send her the red dress she originally wanted. She wears it to a community dance, where she is celebrated as a beautiful person, both inside and out.
