The story
Three weeks before her 28th birthday, New York City food critic Julianne "Jules" Potter learns that her lifelong friend, Michael O'Neal, is set to marry Kimmy Wallace in four days. Realizing she is in love with Michael, Jules travels to Chicago to sabotage the wedding. She faces the challenge of navigating her feelings while trying to convince Michael that she is the right one for him. With the wedding looming, she must navigate a series of schemes and complications to prevent the union and win back the man she loves before the ceremony takes place.

Julianne "Jules" Potter, a food critic, learns her friend Michael is marrying Kimmy Wallace. She travels to Chicago to sabotage the wedding. Her attempts include a failed attempt at a karaoke bar and a failed scheme involving Kimmy's father's business. She eventually pretends to be engaged to her friend George to make Michael jealous. After a series of mishaps, including a sent email that causes Michael to call off the wedding, Jules and Michael share a moment of honesty. However, they ultimately decide to let the wedding proceed. In a final desperate move, Jules confesses her love and kisses Michael, causing Kimmy to flee. After a frantic chase, Jules finds Kimmy and they reconcile. The wedding proceeds, and Jules gives a speech as maid of honor, ultimately moving on with her life.
