An American student studying at the University of Oxford finds her life complicated by a chance encounter with a local academic.
The story
Anna De La Vega, an American student, travels to the University of Oxford to study Victorian poetry for a year. On her first day, she is involved in a minor accident involving Jamie Davenport, a man in a vintage Jaguar. She soon discovers that Jamie is one of her teachers. Despite an initial friction, the two share a night out together. However, the complexity of their burgeoning relationship is soon tested as they navigate the boundaries of their connection while Anna navigates her first year in a new country and a new academic environment.

Anna De La Vega, an American student at the University of Oxford, meets Jamie Davenport after a minor accident. They begin a casual relationship that grows deeper over months. However, Jamie is secretly battling a terminal illness—a genetic cancer that also claimed his brother's life. When Anna discovers his condition, she faces the dilemma of whether to stay by his side or prioritize her future. After a period of separation and conflict regarding her decision to stay in England, they reconcile. Ultimately, Jamie passes away in her arms from complications of his illness. The film ends with a time skip showing Anna teaching the same class Jamie once taught.
