Two Scotland Yard investigators race to stop a masked killer threatening everyone on his death list within 24 hours.

The story

Scotland Yard investigators Inspector Very Long and Chief Inspector Even Longer pursue a new masked killer known as the Wixxer. One of his early victims is Rather Short, whom the inspectors had unmasked as the Wixxer at the end of the first film. They discover him in a cemetery and learn that several people—including Victoria Dickham, daughter of former Scotland Yard chief Lord David Dickham—are on the killer’s death list. With the Wixxer threatening to kill everyone listed within a day, Long and Longer must protect Victoria and investigate the clues. Their task is complicated by Longer’s secret love for Victoria and by the involvement of his inept but charming brother, private detective Much Longer.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The Scotland Yard investigators Inspector Very Long and Chief Inspector Even Longer are on the trail of the new Wixxer. One of his first victims is Rather Short, whom the inspectors unmasked as the Wixxer at the end of the first film. They find him in an open grave in a cemetery, pierced by arrows. Rather Short, like Victoria Dickham and Very Long, among others, was on the Wixxer’s death list. The Wixxer threatens to kill everyone on the list within 24 hours. Long and Longer must therefore prevent the murder of Victoria, the daughter of former Scotland Yard chief Lord David Dickham. The policemen survive the Wixxer’s first attack on Sir John’s office only by sheer luck. The situation is made even more complicated by the fact that Longer is secretly in love with Victoria Dickham and does not want to disappoint her father, who took a dislike to Longer at first sight. Longer's brother, the incompetent but handsome private detective and dance instructor Much Longer, also gets involved in the investigation. Long and Longer follow a lead to St. Vokuhila Monastery and question Sister Lucipha, who seems to know more than she lets on. The trail appears to lead on to the mad Chucky Norris at the “Bates Hospital” psychiatric clinic, run by former butler Alfons Hatler. While trying to warn another person on the death list, Very Long encounters the Wixxer. The two fight, and Long shoots his opponent in the left shoulder. Even Longer returns to the clinic and discovers that Chucky Norris is not in his cell; Longer is then knocked unconscious. He is supposed to die in a bathtub. Hatler saves him and advises him to look around at a club. Long accuses Longer of no longer being objective, but they patch things up and enter the club. There, after a double murder, they find the Wixxer’s signature and return to the clinic once more. Chucky Norris tries to kill Victoria and Longer, but the attempt fails and he dies in the moor. Victoria is kidnapped by the Wixxer. Back at the monastery, it emerges that the Wixxer plans to use a bomb to kill the entire English royal family, assembled for a wedding. At the last second, Long and Longer manage to defuse the bomb. They remove the Wixxer’s mask and find Sister Lucipha underneath—but she is only the real Wixxer’s accomplice (and mother). In fact, Victoria is hiding behind the Wixxer. Victoria shoots her father when he tries to tell Long and Longer this. It turns out that Victoria wants to kill the royal family so she can become queen herself, with Longer as her prince consort. Since he refuses to support her plans, she shoots at Longer, but Long throws himself in the way and is hit. Another nun from the monastery turns out to be BND special agent Inge Lenßen, assigned to protect the groom, a German prince, and she shoots Victoria. Lord Dickham and Long survive thanks to an old Yard trick. Victoria is admitted to Hatler’s clinic, and Long and Longer reconcile.
