A secluded woman must fight off an alien invasion while dealing with the consequences of a tragic past.
The story
Brynn is a seamstress living alone in her childhood home in a forest on the outskirts of a small town. Shunned by the local townspeople due to a past incident, she leads a solitary existence. One night, she discovers a humanoid alien has broken into her home. After killing the intruder in self-defense, she finds her electronics and vehicle rendered useless. She travels into town to find help, only to discover evidence of alien attacks and find that many of the townspeople are under the control of parasites. She must then return to her home to fortify it against further intruders.

Brynn, a seamstress living in a secluded home, is forced into a desperate struggle when a humanoid alien invades her property. After killing the intruder, she discovers the surrounding town is under siege by an alien force using parasites to control the inhabitants. After a harrowing escape from a bus where passengers were controlled by parasites, she returns home to fortify her residence. She faces multiple intruders, eventually being captured and subjected to a psychic probe by a group of aliens. This probe reveals a traumatic memory: as a child, she accidentally killed her best friend, Maude, during an argument. The aliens, realizing the truth of her past, release her. Brynn eventually rebuilds her home and finds that the local residents, now free from the influence of the parasites, treat her kindly, allowing her to live a normal life while alien ships remain visible in the sky.
