Full plot (contains spoilers)

For young architecture student Paul, everything that could possibly go wrong happens at the worst possible time. Not only does his girlfriend leave him, but the first house he designed himself collapses, and as a result he loses his job at the architecture firm where his father is the boss. As if all that weren’t enough bad luck, Paul also discovers that he is sexually impotent. But things seem to take a turn for the better when, during his unsuccessful attempts to find a new girlfriend, he meets Isabell, a life-affirming waitress. She became pregnant unintentionally and has set herself the ambitious goal of running her own restaurant. After she breaks up with the father of her child, she moves in with Paul, and the two lay the foundation for a loving relationship—one that is put to a severe test by Paul’s impotence.
