A young woman's desperate plea for companionship creates a psychic link with a powerful, ancient being.

The story

In 1838, a young woman named Ellen finds herself haunted by a psychic connection to a powerful being known as the Nosferatu. Her husband, Thomas Hutter, a real estate agent, travels to Transylvania to sell a decrepit manor to the reclusive Count Orlok. Unbeknownst to him, the transaction is part of a sinister plot involving the Count's allies. As Thomas navigates the eerie landscape of Transylvania and eventually enters Orlok's castle, he becomes entangled in a web of ancient dread. Meanwhile, Ellen begins to suffer from the supernatural influence of the Nosferatu, leading to a desperate struggle to break the bond before it consumes them both.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In 1838, Ellen and her husband Thomas Hutter live in Wisburg, Germany. Thomas travels to Transylvania to sell the Grünewald Manor to Count Orlok, unaware that his employer, Herr Knock, is in league with the vampire. During his stay at Orlok's castle, Thomas is physically and mentally assaulted by the Count's presence. He discovers Orlok's true nature and flees, only to be rescued by nuns who explain that Orlok is a vampire who made a pact with the Devil. Orlok then travels to Wisburg, where his presence brings a plague. Simultaneously, Ellen suffers from seizures and sleepwalking caused by a psychic link to the Nosferatu. Her doctor consults a scholar, Albin Eberhart von Franz, who confirms the demonic influence. As the plague ravages Wisburg, Orlok demands Ellen's submission. After a series of tragic events, including the death of the Hutter's friends, Ellen and von Franz realize that only a willing sacrifice can destroy the Nosferatu. Ellen lures Orlok to her, and as he feeds on her, she holds Thomas's hand until the sunrise kills the vampire, ultimately sacrificing herself to free the town from the plague.
